As Catedrais Silenciadas is a cry of warning against the depopulation of rural areas and the loss of identity. It constitutes the third work with the Adufeiras de Salitre and in it they reach an unquestionable maturity in their own right. The melodies that Díaz found in the villages for so many years are combined here with the instruments of ethnic music and modal harmony.
